Prior years’ team play, sportsmanship, attitude, and team chemistry

Tryout Design and Selection Panel

The head coaches of the Silverwolves and Timberwolves will prepare the Tryout practices with drills and scrimmages to assist them with objective and primarily subjective assessment of each player.

Players will be offered a core member roster spot on one of the teams.

A number of the remaining tryout attendees will be ranked as subs for the Timberwolves – to be available to fill roster spots as needed on a game-by-game basis.

The Timberwolves Subs and all remaining players will be invited to play in the Novice games scheduled for the second half of the season as part of the 3rd Wolves team.

Tryout Exceptions and Exemptions

This provision is to address potential scenarios that may impact a player’s ability to tryout or to not be able to tryout within the specific tryout dates.

Exceptions/Exemptions will be considered on a case-by-case basis by the PPWHF BOD and the head coaches of the Silverwolves and Timberwolves with the following provisions in place to address such situations:

The player requesting an exception/exemption from tryouts must submit a written application to the PPWHF President stating the following:

• Interest to be considered for a Silverwolves’ or Timberwolves’ roster spot

• Past experience playing hockey, within and outside of the PPWHF programs

• What skills, experience and assets brought to the requested team?

• Ability to commit to team obligations (time and financial)

• One of the two following situations will apply:

1. If medical, state reason and when you will be able to return as cleared to play and be physically able to participate in game action.

2. If non-medical, you will need to state your reason for missing the tryout dates and provide the head coach of your requested team with a date/time to that you will be available for an ‘Independent Coach Review’, if one is requested by that coach.

Independent Coach Review

Any player not able to make one of the designated tryout dates can request an independent Coach review tryout. This will involve setting up a time and place with the Head Coach to watch you play hockey in a league or pick-up hockey situation.

All written applications and $200 Deposit must be submitted to the PPWHF President by August 15, 2007.    As the preferred method, an e-mail application can be sent to mefreddo@gmail.com and Core Player Payment #1 can be made online to qualify.  Make payments online here!

In all situations, the coach is not responsible to justify the roster decisions.
